In this painting on the cover of this journal, you notice a woman glimpsing over her shoulder. This artwork depicts the statement, “Don’t look back. You aren’t going that way”. The woman only looks for a moment over her shoulder to acknowledge what has been.  

Langré painted this during a time when God was dealing with roots in her life. In that season, she needed to look at her history, upbringing, experiences, and the story she had been telling herself to decide what would be the choices for the future. It is said that whatever you are unwilling to confront will persist in your life. This painting represented her time of finding the courage to embrace stillness, sit in silence, face those limiting beliefs, and find forgiveness. These were the keys to unlock the grace and peace to move forward.

With Picasso inspired elements, this painting has calming hues and pops of pizzazz in color. The backdrop is intended to be rain, which represents refreshment, washing, and renewal. This piece reflects the prayer of Psalm 51:10,“Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.”
